Spring Break - Broken Bow

Our 3rd annual Spring Break Broken Bow trip did not disappoint.  Our kids had a month long countdown and started packing their bags weeks before we left!  They were just as excited this time around as the first year!  I can't imagine our spring breaks without Broken Bow!  Three days of friends and nature!

Our first evening always consists of pizza at the Grateful Head!

Every year we test out a new activity, this year it was a 2.5 miles canoe trip!  Super fun and relaxing!
Safety first . . .

I loved this view of my little paddlers!

Every trip to Broken Bow consists of a fun hike!  This year we tried out a new hike called the Friends Trail.  Perfect name for our crew!

And every hike ends with well deserved ice cream!
The boys also did some fishing!  Biggest trout to date we have caught!
Another huge hit was the escape rooms!  We all escaped just in time!

The days and evenings also consisted of walks around the neighborhood, hot tubbing, campfires, smores, storytelling and most importantly Big Foot hunts!

We ended the trip with a leprechaun trap for St. Patrick's Day morning.  No luck catching the little guy but we did get all his goodies!
We were extremely lucky to go on our Spring Break trip.  Right before we left the Covid-19 pandemic started spreading across the U.S.  People were in panic and the markets completely crashed.  Airlines stopped flying and trips were being cancelled.  While were in Broken Bow we found out school was cancelled for the remainder of the year.  We lived up our BB days outside, knowing it could be our only trip of the year!  These neighbors are now our people riding out Covid-19 together!!!

6U Champs

Mason and his Raptors team started off the spring season as 6U champions for the Edmond All Sports Season opener tournament!  Mason was so impressive!!!  He has baseball in his blood and is a natural!

Cutest team of 5/6 year olds around!

Mason definitely earned this impressive trophy!
Can't wait to watch the Raptors play this entire spring!

Newcastle Baseball Champions!

Once again I could not be more proud of Jackson!  He was asked to play on a thrown together baseball team for a Newcastle baseball tournament.  The coach asked boys from a handful of Edmond teams to play together, forming a pretty dominate team!  Jackson only knew one boy on the team but that didn't cause him to hesitate at all saying yes!  He loves sports and will play with anyone, whether he knows them or not.  He never gets nervous, he just plays ball the best he can.  And this weekend he played especially amazing!!!  He got to play 2nd base and loved it!

His team dominated and took home the 8U championship!!!  Introducing the Champion Edmond Yardbirds . . .

Look at that bling!!!

Winter Sports Wrap-up

All three kids played winter basketball this year!  They all had great seasons and we loved watching them play!

This was Harper's first season to play basketball and we couldn't be more proud!  She learned a lot and developed so much throughout the season.  She learned to be aggressive which has never been a strength and did more running than ever!  Her team had played multiple seasons together and Harper walked on the court and owned her first season.  Can't wait to watch her play throughout the years!  Her team was even featured in a local newspaper!
 Harper had lots of supportors!

This was Mason's first season at Solid Rock and he did amazing!!!  He is so much fun to watch.  He was the high scorer of almost every game, rarely had a turnover and played amazing defense.  So proud of this kid!  He is a natural at basketball!

Jackson also had a great winter season of basketball!  His team ended the season in 1st place and were 8U league championships at Solid Rock.  Unfortunately he missed the last game and medals being handed out for a baseball championship!  This kid is a champ!

Jackson also wrapped up winter indoor soccer.  Indoor keeps these boys in shape during the offseason, with no out of bounds the boys are moving non-stop!

Jackson played in the Presidents Day 3x3 NBA tournament and his team took the championship again!  These boys are pretty impressive!

Our weeknights and weekends might be crazy busy but I wouldn't have it any other way!  Watching the kids do what they love is my favorite!
