Road to Recovery

Jackson has battled ear infections, wheezing and coughing since the day he was born.  He has been on countless antibiotics, daily breathing treatments, tubes in his ears, etc . . . we will try anything to help little man feel better.  So on Tuesday we took the next step and had Jackson's adenoids removed.  Surgery went well and of course the Dr. said his adenoids were infected when they were removed.  That made me certain we made the right decision!

Little man pre surgery at 6:15 am!

I had visions of taking pictures of my peaceful little man waking up from the anesthesia and being so angelic . . . boy was I wrong!  No one warned me of babies reactions to anesthesia!  Here is my warning to all parents, be prepared for a crazy child, screaming, kicking, thrashing their head, etc.  Completely understandable because babies can't grasp what is going on with their bodies but it definitely makes for a LONG recovery.  It took exactly 2 hours for Jackson's anesthesia to wear off.

Luckily Mimi came to the rescue and stayed home with Jackson the remainder of the week.  He is still recovering but I'm hoping that we will see a big difference come next week.  Fingers crossed.  In the meantime, little man has been and will continue to get a lot of TLC!

Paci Thief

Harper is a notorious paci thief who strikes at all hours of the day.  Today she choose bath time.  It's very rare that Jackson sneaks into the tub with a paci but tonight he did and I'm sure he regretted it.

Jackson being innocent scrub dub dubbing in the tub

And then sister goes in for the kill
J tries to fend her off
And he ultimately loses . . .
Did you see what just happened???
then tug-a-paci begins . . .
But sister always gives it back for a split second and then starts all over again
Luckily J usually finds this pretty funny and it becomes a game.  This is the one game Harper usually wins.

Thunder Babies

It's one of our favorite times of the year . . . Thunder playoffs!  The Thunder need a few extra lucky charms with Westbrook's season ending injury.  Jackson and Harper might just do the trick!  Either way they look super cute sporting all their Thunder gear and cheering for their home team!  Thunder Up!

Crazy Hair

The kids celebrated crazy hair day at school last week by Jackson sporting a mohawk and Harper the normal curly fro.

Jackson seemed to have the rocker attitude to go with his mohawk.  He was definitely hamming it up!

Look at those curls and wings!  This little girl definitely has her daddy's hair.

Jackson and Harper seem to understand things now.  You can tell them its time to read a book before bed and they run into their room and pick out their favorite book or you can tell them it's time for a bath and they run into the bathroom.  Things just seem to have clicked this past month!  They interact more with each other, good and bad.  They have definitely learned how to annoy the other but they always give each other a kiss before bed and make amends.  Jackson and Harper are becoming each others best friend. It's truly amazing to watch a lifetime friendship develop!

We have been blessed with two healthy, happy, vibrant 15 month olds!

Miss H looking so big reading a magazine while waiting in the Dr's. office.  Best time to catch up on celebrity gossip :)

Outside Obsession

J&H have been loving being outside enjoying the perfect weather.  We rush home every evening from work to get in a little playtime before dinner and bath.  Tonight J was ready to pass up dinner to continue playing, who would have thought!  They both head straight to the back door as soon as we get home.  We are soaking it up now because in a few months it will be so hot!

Jackson could spend hours (literally hours) getting in and out of his cars.  Sister has been playing in his red car so Jackson has resorted to the pink one.  Tough boys play with pink cars :)

And he has mastered climbing up his play set

Harper stays busy picking up every leaf and one by one setting it on her little bench

And when her leaves aren't lined up on her bench she is carrying them by the fistful down the slide

And while driving her car

The twins also like practicing their lawn mowing skills.  They will think the riding lawn mower is the easy way out!

If only our evenings were a little longer!  I miss these sweet faces all day long!
