Spring Break - Cancun

Spring Break didn’t quite go as planned… but we made the absolute best of it!  We had been looking forward to a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Kauai for over 6 months. Just a week before our trip the weather had other plans—a rare Kona low storm was forecasted to hit the islands, something they said hadn’t happened in 40+ years. After lots of back-and-forth (and way too much weather checking 😅), we made the tough call to cancel.

But… we pivoted and Cancun ended up being the perfect backup—sun, sand, and some much-needed relaxation at an all-inclusive resort. Exactly what this busy season called for!  This spring is SO busy with soccer, volleyball, baseball, track, tennis, 7v7 football and so much school work!

Kauai is still very much on our bucket list and we are hoping to make it there soon!  

Jackson kicked off spring break with his monthly boys blackjack/poker night!  The weather was perfect for a night on the patio!

Saturday the boys went to the land for an afternoon of fishing and exploring while Harper had volleyball and packing

With last minute flight changes we had to fly out of Dallas in order to find 5 available seats.  Our flight was at 6:50am so we loaded up around 1:00am and hit the road!  The kids slept the entire drive while me and Tyler drank endless coffee and listened to multiple podcasts.

Landed in Cancun and kicked off vacay with backseat road beers!  Vacation has officially started!

Made it to the resort just in time for an afternoon of sunshine! 

We booked two amazing suites with with rooftop patios, hot tubs and amazing ocean views!

We dropped off bags off in the room and went straight to the beach!

The first two days were PERFECT!  Sun and perfect temps, but then the wind and chillier temps rolled in for our last two days :(  We still made the most of it and relaxed even more than we had planned.

Not exactly what we had planned but getting away with my crew is always a good time, no matter where we are!
