Wyoming

This summer we have been extremely fortunate to turn two work trips into little parents only vacations.  This past week Tyler and I just enjoyed 5 days in beautiful Wyoming.  It was a much needed break from the Oklahoma summer heat.  I had never been to Wyoming so I couldn't pass up the opportunity to tag along.

We flew into Jackson, Wyoming Monday evening after work.  What a cute town!!!  I can't wait to go back with the kids.  It was a LONG Monday but we couldn't resist trying out the local watering holes . . .

Tuesday morning we explored Jackson and headed to the Grand Tetons.  We had a full day ahead of us!

We made a quick stop at Jenny Lake which was beautiful and so peaceful

I could stare at the Grand Tetons all day long!
Then we were off to Yellowstone . . .

This was the crowd waiting to see Old Faithful . . . I could not believe the amount of people!  Luckily we timed it just right and only had to wait 10 mins to see Old Faithful in her glory.

Mammoth hot springs . . . not the hot springs that people can relax in but still a beautiful sight!

After a full day of driving and sight seeing we headed to our little cabin in west Yellowstone for some R&R.  Look at this bed!!!

Wednesday morning we started heading east through Yellowstone. Our first stop was the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone.  By far my favorite stop!  It was beyond beautiful and absolutely breath taking.

We hiked to the bottom of the Grand Canyon for a fabulous view of this waterfall.  Tyler's fitbit recorded the equivalent of 88 flights of stairs during our hike!
A rainbow can be seen at the bottom of the waterfall whenever the sun is shining.  Luckily for us the sun started peaking out when we made it to the bottom.
We then drove through Hayden Valley and became part of a herd of buffalo.  They didn't like us getting out and taking pictures so Rumble called over his friends and forced us back in the car!

After 1.5 full days in Yellowstone we headed east to Sheridan for Tyler's work events.  We had a great time exploring Yellowstone.  Lots and lots of driving but totally worth every mile.  I can't wait to bring the kids back to see all the beauty.  We are back to reality, 100 degree heat and three kiddos running around.  Nothing I would want more!
