Weekend with the Ladies

Well this weekend has flown by probably because it was jammed packed.  I definitely had no time for rest.  Tyler and I started the weekend with a little Friday night date, dinner and the broadway show Ragtime.  My absolute favorite kind of date.  Thanks to my mother-in-law I now have season tickets to the Civic Center starting this fall.  CAN'T WAIT!

On Saturday we started the day off with volunteering at the OKC Food Bank.  Always a good way to start the day.  Saturday afternoon I co-hosted a baby shower for one of my best friends, Sarah and baby Luke.  All of the lady friends from college rolled out for the shower. We had a great time visiting and showering Luke with plenty of love and presents.  Luckily with upcoming weddings, babies and football season we will all be seeing a lot of each other.

The momma to be!  We can't wait for Luke's arrival.  The twins and Luke are going to the bestest of friends!

The newest Chio momma to sweet baby Jack!

Love all the Chio ladies!

The BEST neighbors!  Our neighborhood is about to be full of babies!

Family pic!

Needless to say I will be headed to bed early tonight!

Miller, Party of Four

I have been waiting rather patiently the last 12 weeks to divulge some AMAZING news!  Tyler and I are expecting twins in early 2012.  Their actual due date is February 4th but we will deliver no later than mid January with it being twins.

Tyler and I are elated and can't wait for the twins' arrival.  We are already so in love with these two little babies.  I am constantly thinking about them and worrying about them.  At times I secretly hope for some morning sickness just for a sign that they are still okay.  Besides feeling extremely exhausted I have been feeling great.  Luckily with twins we have more doctor's appointments and ultrasounds.  Tyler and I are very fortunate that we get to see our sweet babies every 4 weeks.  Once we hit the 22 week mark we will start going in every two weeks.  This is great news for me because I always need reassurance that everything is going smoothly.

I am so happy that the news is finally public.  I couldn't keep these twins a secret much longer!  And now Tyler and I can start being social again.  So for those of you we haven't seen in awhile, we are back plus two!

Here are some pictures from our 12 week ultrasound from Monday.  The babies are measuring spot on 12 weeks and are growing equally, which is really important with twins.  It was amazing how much detail you could see in the actual ultrasound.  Tyler was able to count 10 fingers and toes on one of the babies.

Baby 1

Baby 2 is face down

And both the babies heads

We are so excited for the journey ahead.  It looks like I will have a lot to blog about in the upcoming months and years.  Get ready!

Take Me Out to the Ball Game

Tyler joined a work baseball team over a month ago and I had yet to make a game until today.  My sister and I plus the dogs ventured out to the ballpark this afternoon and braved the 105 degree weather.  I have wanted to watch a game but it has been way too hot to sit out in the sun.  Well after looking at the forecast and seeing no end in sight to the extreme heat I decided it was time to suck it up.

Maddie got a little overheated so we dumped out the ice from our ice chest and she cooled off by laying on it.

Bailey could not keep her tongue in her mouth!  I think both dogs will sleep soundly tonight.  I hope the weather cools off so we can watch more baseball games without scorching in the heat!

First Post

Well I have finally caved and have started a blog.  After religiously reading friends blogs over the past year I have decided I needed a little blog of my own.  I think this might be a good substitute for scrapbooking which takes way too long and is super expensive.

This might be a long first blog post but I have something good to talk about, trust me they won't all be this long.  Tyler and I just got back home from an AMAZING vacation on the small island of Anguilla, in the Caribbean.  This vacation could not have come at a better time, not only did we escape the 100 degree heat in OKC but we also got a much needed break from our crazy work lives.  And boy did we get a break, we basically laid by the beach every morning and moved to the pool each afternoon.  I usually have a hard time relaxing but for some reason I had NO problem this past week and it was glorious!

We flew this little 8 passenger plane from Puerto Rico to Anguilla.  I think Continental should have had a warning while booking about the plane size!  We survived, just barely on the way back.  I had a serious anxiety attack while flying through a storm and I actually let out a loud scream when we dropped in the air.  I'm pretty sure that we will never again fly on a plane this small!

We stayed at the most phenomenal hotel, the Viceroy.  We later found out it is quite the celebrity hangout.  Last December Michael Jordan, Derek Jeter and Minka Kelly, 50 Cent and Ellen DeGeneres were hotel guests.  Unfortunately we did not have any star sightings except for a few NBA bball players.

The Viceroy had an infinity pool that had the best view of the ocean.  I could definitely handle laying and napping by the pool every day.

The beaches in Anguilla were absolutely PERFECT, white sand and crystal clear warm water.  Shoal Bay is rated one of the top beaches in the world.  In the last beach picture, St. Martin is the mountainous background.
And then of course there are plenty of pics of Tyler and I.

We rented a car for two days to explore the island and the various beaches. I think this might be Tyler's next car :)

All in all we had an amazing time on vacation.  Unfortunately we are back to reality and the daily grind.
