First Camp Out

Tyler did the unthinkable and convinced me to take the kids camping with some of our neighbor friends!  Serious camping, tents and no bathrooms.  We packed a truck and my SUV FULL and drove out to Medford, OK for an afternoon outdoors and evening under the stars.  We had such a great night fishing, cooking over the fire, eating s'mores, star gazing, laughing with friends, telling ghost stories and cozying up in a tent full of kids.  Such a refreshing evening away from reality, TVs and ipads.  The kids had a blast running all over the open land and I had a blast watching them.  J woke up in the morning and asked if we had to leave because he wanted to stay forever.  He is his dad's dream child!  Definitely a successful first camp out.  Not saying I want to camp all the time but I will definitely be willing to go back.  Thankful for our fun camping friends!

The boys went down earlier on Friday and got our campground all set up.  I was told J was quite the helper.
 admiring his masterpiece . . .
campground for the evening . . . wide open spaces

Once we were settled in we headed down to the pond for a little catfish fishing!

the kids thought it was fun to lay in the tall grass and play hide and seek!

then back to the campground for hot dogs and s'mores

some marshmallows didn't make it to the s'mores! ;)
loved our campfire snuggles!

Fun night!
