Summer Days

We sure do love summer days!  Our summer outings have been pretty limited due to Covid so we especially love summer days that feel normal!  We've had some super fun "normal" summer outings recently that felt so good!

We were so excited to make a trip to Scissortail Park in OKC to test out their new pedal boats and canoes!  We chose the WINDIEST day so we had to work extra hard!

The fire alarm was accidentally set off at lunch so the kids were pretty excited to get a tour of the firetruck!  They climbed inside the truck, tried on gear and got to talk to the firefighters.
After a long morning in the sun the kids couldn't resist the splash pad!
Jackson and I escaped for a super fun outing to the OKC Riversports!  J had been patiently waiting since his 8th birthday to use his season pass to test out the white water rafting!  So much fun!!!  We had lots of laughs, a little bit of nerves, were super adventurous, got soaked and had the best day together!  It's not very often I get to escape with one kid but when I do it is so special!

We started with the ropes course!  You can barely see us but we made it to the top, on a super super windy day!!!

Trying out something new is even better when your best friend gets to join!

We did it and not one of us fell out of the raft!  I caught Jackson twice by the life jacket as he almost went overboard but I got him just in time!
Now tubing was a different story!  Jackson and I both flipped out of our tubes and were pretty banged up!  Not sure I will be tubing again!

We've also made a few trips to Frontier City, masks and all!  Frontier City requires masks at all times, pretty brutal in the summer heat but we did it (and more than once)!

I keep telling Jackson I can tell he isn't smiling under his mask, no squinty eyes means to smiling :)

Love my summer days with the kids!!!!
