Two beach trips in a 2 week span . . . Millers are living their best lives summer of 2025! My sister booked a house in Cinnamon Shores, TX for her Giordano crew and my parents. The house had an extra bedroom and a kids bunkroom so they asked if we wanted to tag along! Of course we said yes! Sad Tyler couldn't join but now we have an excuse to go back.
This trip wasn't all sunshine and roses but we made the most of it . . . Jackson had an urgent care visit and my mom had a 3 night hospital stay, all within our 1st hr of arriving. As soon as we got our cars unpacked we took a golfcart ride to tour the Cinnamon Shores community and see the beach. Cinnamon Shores is such a fun community with amazing houses and so many amentities. There are multiple pools, restaurants, ponds, basketball, pickelball, tennis courts, movies on the lawn and so much more. The best part is you can drive your golfcart or car onto the beach and park it where you post up for the day. After a quick tour around and feet in the water we headed back to the house to make dinner. When we returned to the house my mom was trying to brush sand off her feet and fell. She ended up fracturing her pelvis. The boys were out fishing so we asked them to clean up all the fishing gear so we could take Nana to the ER. Jackson came in with a hook stuck deep in his hand. It was stuck in the dock and he tried pulling it out. He sure got it out but now it was stuck in his hand. As he walked into the house he said he felt dizzy and within seconds his eyes rolled back in his head and he passed out. Made me a nervous wreck and honestly had me in a panic. Thankfully Matt kept his cool and put his EHS skills to work and had him back awake after about 1 minute of being out. We loaded up my mom and Jackson and were off to the Urgent Care for Jackson and ER for my mom. Great start to the trip!
I stayed the first night at the ER with my mom literally in the hallway all night waiting for a room to become available. I came back the next morning to a cousin crew that was ready to hit the beach and pools. A little nap on the beach kept me going!
Mason brought a few hermit crabs back to the house and he took them out for nightly feedings of eggs and strawberries.
We loved cheering on the Thunder in the finals while on vacay! The cutest Thunder loving cousin crew!
Thunder watch party started with the National Anthem
Mason was so excited to try skim boarding and of course he caught on quickly. This kid can literally do it all. He bought a skim board in Panama City on the last day of his baseball trip. Coach/Dad said NO skim boarding during the World Series due to the injury risk but no restrictions on this Cinnamon Shores trip.
After 3 nights in the hospital Nana finally busted out! She might have been in a wheelchair but we made the most of our last day and night at the beach with her and grandpa!
Pushing a wheelchair on the beach was the best vacay workout!
We saved our beach bonfire until the whole fam could be there and it was worth the wait!
Mason was all about making this firepit perfect, he even made a "bench" for seating
