The day we will never forget

January 6, 2012 is a day that Tyler and I will NEVER forget.  We are now the proud parents of Harper Lynne Miller and Jackson Clay Miller.  We are absolutely head over heels in love with our two little ones!  We have spent the first week loving on the babies every minute of the day.

Here is the story of the twins' birth . . .

Tyler and I went to bed Thursday evening with the intention of going to work Friday morning and preparing for our last child free weekend.  Those plans changed around 4:00 a.m. when my water broke.  Earlier in the week my doctor said the chances of the twins coming before our scheduled c-section were slim to none.  We were planning on scheduling a c-section for January 13th or the 18th.  So our shock level was pretty high at 4:00 am when my water broke, honestly we weren't totally convinced at first.  After about 20 minutes of google searching we were certain that the twins would be making their grand entrance today.  Tyler jumped in the shower and I put on some make up, straightened my hair and finished packing our bags.  About an hour later (a little after 5) we were pulling up to the hospital doors for our weekend stay.  You would have thought we were moving in with all the stuff we had packed.

Once we were checked into the hospital my doctor scheduled my c-section for 7:30 am.  Everything happened so quickly which was definitely a blessing.  There was no time for nerves or anxiety, just pure excitement that we were about to meet our precious babies.  I'm happy Jackson and Harper were able to choose their birthday!

Harper Lynne Miller was born at 8:00 am, weighing in at 5 lbs 9 ounces and 19 inches long and Jackson Clay Miller was born at 8:01 am weighing in at 5 lbs 3 ounces and 18 inches long.  We feel so blessed they were both perfectly healthy at 36 weeks.

So thankful that Auntie Stephanie (and Auntie Amanda) were at the hospital for the twins delivery.  It happened so quickly the rest of the family couldn't make it until 11:30-12:00.

Ready to head home!  Tyler and I are so thankful that Jackson and Harper came home with us immediately.

I have had some complications from the c-section that have kept me down longer than anticipated.  Tyler and I are so grateful for all the prayers, concerns and help.  We truly have the best family and friends.  I hope to be on the road to recovery next week.

We are now a week into having a family of four and we are loving every moment. I can't imagine our lives without Jackson and Harper.  We love you babies!
