Here is a little background (I apoligize up front if I give too many details) . . . I delivered the twins via c-section Friday, January 6th. On Saturday, while still in the hospital, I woke up laying in a pool of blood. Such a scary experience! The nurses immediately called the on call Dr. up to the hospital and also called my Dr. to come in. The doctor's determined that I had a large hematoma that built up so much pressure that it burst through my incision. The doctor's were able to stop the bleeding by pumping numerous fluids and medication into my system and by applying major pressure to the incision via nurses and also a 5 lb bag of sand. My hematoma caused severe swelling and also a bruise the size of at least a basketball. Now I need the rest of the hematoma to drain through the incision however I'm having severe blood clotting which is restricting the drainage. Bascially my incision is completely open at this point. My Dr. will be removing all the blood clots during my surgery tomorrow and closing my original incision.
I'm trying to stay strong through all of this for Jackson and Harper but it breaks my heart that I will be leaving them for the entire day tomorrow. It seems so early to lose a day with our sweet babies but they will be in good hands. I can handle the pain but its hard leaving these precious faces . . .
Maddie and Bailey will watch over the twins while I'm out on Wednesday
Hopefully all goes well tomorrow and I'll be on the road to recovery, FINALLY!!!
Good luck, Melissa!! Many prayers for you, Tyler and the babies!
