Kanakuk K-Kauai

We just got back from the most amazing week at Kanakuk K-Kauai family kamp!  We unplugged for 7 straight days with NO tv and very limited access to our phones.  It was AMAZING.  We focused on our family, our marriage and our relationships with God, while having the most fun!  This is a vacation that every family should take!  We had high expectations going into our trip, due to rave reviews from friends, and Kamp exceeded our expectations exponentially!  It is just amazing that kamp is run by college students (with a handful of adults) who are so dedicated to serving others and making the week perfect, while making very minimal money.  The counselors were amazing role models to our kids and truly inspirational!

We pulled into Kamp to hear all the counselors singing and dancing with excitement.  We drove in, they took our car, and unpacked our car.  Last time with a car for the week!

First night was a luau  . . . kamp truly felt like paradise!
The kids met every morning and evening in the "Reef" with their age group, the Coconuts, and their counselors.  They had a bible lesson and always did a fun activity!

Our room overlooked the putt putt course.  The kids played every free second they had!

We celebrated Father's Day while on vacation!  We love this daddy more than he knows!  He is our rock, our calming force, our fun dad and so much more!
What better way to celebrate than by fishing, gun shooting and bow and arrow shooting!  Sounds like a dad's dream with his kids!

We all loved this giant slip n' slide!

Jackson was the first to try the giant dock jump.  He climbed up the ladder with no fear and jumped into the 42 degree water before the countdown even began!   Blew us all away!

Dad followed . . .
Then Jackson went two more times before I got the courage to join!
Our 2nd night was a pajama party and we dressed in super hero pjs!

After dinner we went to K life, which is a worship time with songs and fun!  The kids had a huge stuffed animal war which was a blast!

Jackson and Tyler did the Diamond Head ropes course on the third day!  Once again J blew me away with his strength and fearlessness.

He might be small but he sure is mighty!

That night we had a camo "Surrender" party and we all went through a military boot camp!
no smiles allowed . . .
Love these sweet kids and our neighbor friends!

The next day we enjoyed the afternoon on Table Rock Lake!  Such a beautiful lake and the water was beyond amazing!  We had a blast tubing and cliff jumping!

Harper was timid at first but after one round of tubing she was hooked!

The entire family tried cliff jumping.  M only jumped once but I'm so proud of him trying!  J&H didn't want to stop!  They got higher and braver with each jump!

That night was a Toytal Takeover.  The kids dressed up as their favorite toys and took over Kamp, while the parents went out on date night!  Such a fun night for everyone!  During the kids takeover they got to eat dessert before their dinner!  Big hit for the kids!

Tyler and I enjoyed an adult dinner at Top of the Rock, overlooking Table Rock Lake!  Absolutely stunning views!

We enjoyed the evening with some of our new couple friends from Kamp!  We met some of the most amazing couples, so glad some of them are from the OKC metro!

J won the Golden Palm Tree as the #1 camper for the day in his Coconut group.  Always proud of this boy!
We had one almost full day of rain but it didn't stop us from having fun!  Rain and clouds meant I didn't have to put sunscreen on to swim!  Win for mom!!!
The last night of camp we had a "Super "Palsm" Sunday and competed in multiple sporting events!  Team Miller did great and looked super cute competing!

These two crashed before changing into pjs.  That means the night was a success!
In between all our activities we spent a lot of time at the multiple pools!  We did the high dives, the water slides, basketball and some water volleyball!  So much fun in the sun!

Such an amazing week with my crew!!!  Lots of memories, laughs, and so much fun!  Can't wait to return to Kamp next year!
